BECOMING INVISIBLE BY LIZ LOVELESS
Show Dates: 6 February - 31 March 2020
In this collection of cyanotypes Liz Loveless combines narrative illustration with fine art printmaking. Often veiled beneath a veneer of gentle humour, narratives that appear simple on the surface can reveal unexpected complexities within the artwork. Inspired by a diverse range of subject matter and everyday objects her pictures reflect an interest in the nuances of human and animal frailty. Liz uses a variety of print processes and photo mechanical techniques alongside drawing and analogue photography to explore her subject both aesthetically and conceptually.
Liz originally trained in Fashion and Textile Design at Central St. Martins, where she now teaches. Following a postgraduate in Illustration she set up Factory Press in 2004, an independent publishing and design company specialising in hand-bound, limited edition, screen printed books.
Her prints and books have been featured in publications such as Vogue, The Times Educational Supplement, Creative Review and her books have been published by Random House, Hyperion, The Bodley Head and Design for Today.
