John Devolle was born and raised in Birmingham, but moved to London in 1996 to study fine art at the University of Westminster where he finished with a BA(hons) in Mixed Media Art. He then worked predominantly as a freelance graphic designer and art director while also supporting various musical endeavors, including guitarist in punk-blues-garage band Junkbox. Since 2009 John has been producing illustrations and infographics. In 2011 he completed a short course in illustration at Central St Martins College and now works as full-time as a freelance illustrator. Clients have included The British Library, GQ, Vanity Fair, BBC, The Economist, Wired Magazine, National Geographic and The Sunday Times Magazine among notable others.
