This single Bee Cell is the ideal nesting site for solitary bees. Designed by Green&Blue and inspired by the guerrilla gardening movement, it also contains lots of info to help spread awareness about our brilliant bees. The perfect gift for a garden or nature lover.

The Bee Cell can fit in any space, so not only can it be built a garden wall, it also fits on a windowsill or balcony. There is no excuse not to add a little nesting place for wildlife.

Available in three different colours: White, Charcoal and Yellow.

The Bee Cell should be positioned in a warm sunny spot, south facing, with no vegetation in front of the fascia. Ideally placed at least 1/2 metre from the ground with no upward limit.

Bee Cell is solid at the back and has a single cavity where solitary bees, such as red mason and leafcutter bees, will lay their eggs, sealing the entrance with mud or chewed up vegetation. Offspring emerge in the spring and begin the process of nesting again, repeating the cycle.

Solitary bees are facing a dramatic decline in numbers due to disease, an increase in chemical use and habitat loss. Pollinators account for 1/3 of the food we eat and are a vital part of our environment. The Bee Cell™ can be used in urban spaces and places where there may not be alternative nesting sites for bees, either built into a wall or building or simply stood alone in a garden or allotment. Solitary bees are harmless and will not sting you unless you handle them roughly, even then their stings are not painful, meaning they are safe to encourage around pets and children.
