The salmon is known for its wisdom as well as its power.
These mighty fish swim against the flow. The word salmon comes from the Latin 'salire' – to leap. Having returned to the river of their birth after years at sea, salmon determinedly swim upstream to their spawning grounds.
Salmons is an original hand-carved linocut print in two colours - black and gold.
A variant of woodcut, linocut is a relief print technique dating back to the beginning of the 1900s. Linoleum is a natural material made out of linseed oil and other residual materials like pine resin and wood dust. The design is cut into the linoleum surface with a sharp knife, chisel or gouge and then inked and pressed onto fabric or paper.
