Jo Angell's 'Passage' series are abstracted prints reflecting her recent journeys. Her sketchbook and paint brush takes her as far as Marrakesh, to more close to home in the Essex marsh and the boat filled landscapes of the small riverside town of Wivenhoe. With an interest in the shifting tides and light found in these contrasting places.
Passage 1 is a bright and colourful painterly homage to waterside places. Abstract boat shapes jostle together in a St Ives style manner, reminiscent of Barbara Hepworth or Ben Nicholson.
